Terms of Service
The terms and conditions governing use of the Custory platform.

Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using Custory, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and applicable laws. If you use Custory on behalf of a company, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
The Service
Custory provides software for customer journey mapping, collaboration, integrations, and workflow automation. Features may include:
- Journey mapping tools, templates, and collaborative editing
- Workspace management, comments, tasks, and internal collaboration features
- Analytics, reporting, and workflow automation capabilities
- Integrations with third-party platforms such as Google Drive, Figma, Intercom, Jira, Linear, Notion, Slack, Discord, GitHub, Miro, PostHog, and Stripe
We may modify, improve, add, or remove features from time to time.
Eligibility and Accounts
Account Registration
To use certain parts of Custory, you must create an account or join a workspace. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and authentication methods
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
Account Security and Access
Authentication and session management may be provided through WorkOS or other authentication providers we use. You are responsible for controlling access to your account and workspace, including managing team members and permissions.
Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, unauthorized, or illegal activity.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools without permission
- Resell or redistribute the service without authorization
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
- Use Custory in a way that violates the terms or rights of third-party services or data providers
Customer Content
You retain ownership of content, data, and materials that you or your workspace submit to Custory ("Customer Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, reproduce, transmit, display, and use Customer Content only as necessary to operate, secure, and provide the service to you.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have all rights, permissions, and legal bases necessary to upload Customer Content and to connect third-party services to Custory.
Confidentiality of Customer Content
We will use confidential Customer Content only as necessary to operate and secure the service.
- Access to Customer Content is restricted to personnel and service providers who need it
- We require applicable confidentiality obligations for those personnel and providers
- We may disclose Customer Content only where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
Custory Intellectual Property
Custory and its related software, design, branding, content, and functionality are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except as expressly allowed by these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the service.
Third-Party Integrations and OAuth
Custory allows you to connect third-party services through OAuth and other credentials. Your use of those third-party services remains subject to their own terms, conditions, and privacy policies.
When you authorize an integration, you instruct Custory to access, process, and exchange the data made available by that service in order to provide the features you request. You may revoke access at any time by disconnecting the integration in Custory or through the applicable third-party provider.
We are not responsible for outages, security incidents, policy changes, or data handling practices of third-party providers.
Privacy
Your use of Custory is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions, Billing, and Payments
Current plans, included features, limits, and pricing are described on the Pricing page. Prices may be offered monthly or annually and may vary by plan, seat count, usage, contract terms, and applicable promotions.
- Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled
- Charges are billed in advance for the applicable billing period
- By starting a paid subscription, you authorize Custory and its billing and payment service providers, including Autumn and Stripe, to process applicable subscription, seat, usage, overage, tax, VAT, and other plan-related charges
- Seat charges and usage-based overages are billed according to the selected plan and billing settings
- Failed or overdue payments may result in account restriction, feature limits, or suspension
- Plan upgrades may take effect immediately
- Downgrades and cancellation normally take effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated during checkout or agreed in writing
- Price changes require reasonable advance notice before they apply to an existing subscription
Free Trial and Refund Policy
Paid subscription plans include a free 7-day trial. A payment method is required to start the trial, and the selected plan automatically converts to a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel before the end of the trial period.
Payments are non-refundable except where required by law or agreed in writing. Cancelling during a trial prevents the trial from converting to a paid subscription. Cancelling after a subscription has started prevents future renewal but does not automatically refund the current billing period, usage-based overages, additional seats, or other charges already incurred.
Feedback
If you provide suggestions, comments, or feedback about Custory, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
Availability and Changes
We strive to keep the service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free operation. We may:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue features
- Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
- Impose limits designed to protect the service or other users
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Custory is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that third-party integrations or external content will remain available, accurate, or secure.
Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Custory and its affiliates, officers, employees, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, business, goodwill, or data, arising out of or related to your use of the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Custory's aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us for the service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Custory harmless from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your Customer Content, your use of the service, your connected integrations, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Termination
You may cancel a paid workspace plan from workspace billing settings or by contacting support if you cannot access those settings. After cancellation, access to paid features normally continues until the end of the paid billing period, and no further renewal charge is made for that cancelled subscription.
You remain responsible for unpaid fees, usage-based charges, overages, taxes, and other amounts incurred before cancellation or termination. We may suspend or terminate access to the service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for other users, exposed us to legal liability, failed to pay amounts due, or if we discontinue the service.
If we permanently discontinue a paid service for reasons unrelated to your breach, abuse, unlawful conduct, or other misconduct, we will provide reasonable advance notice where practicable, give you a commercially reasonable opportunity to export Customer Content, and refund any prepaid unused subscription fees on a proportional basis for the discontinued paid service.
When a workspace ends, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to allow workspace owners to export Customer Content for 30 days unless access has been suspended for security, legal, or abuse reasons. Workspace data is scheduled for deletion after the export period, subject to backups, legal obligations, dispute records, billing records, and technical retention limits.
Sections covering customer content, third-party integrations, privacy, subscriptions and payments, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, termination, and general terms survive termination to the extent necessary to give them effect.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will post the updated Terms here and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Custory after the revised Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
General Terms
These Terms are governed by applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
